Some iPhone users might have the option to change their background. Google Support gives two reasons.
Either you have an iPhone older than the iPhone 6s, or that your iOS version is under 12.
While you may still be able to change your virtual background using an iPad, but at the time of writing this article, you may not be able to do so. Although blurring your background is still a valid option.
